What has changed in six months? It has been revealed that Gürsel Tekin said, "No CHP member would accept being a trustee."

Former CHP Istanbul MP and former CHP Secretary General Gürsel Tekin was appointed as a "trustee" to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Headquarters by the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance today. Tekin, who accepted the trusteeship by saying, "We are the party's elder brother; we cannot leave it unattended," made headlines in an interview six months ago in which he categorically denied the allegations that he would be appointed a trustee, even stating that "CHP members will not accept this."

"NO REPUBLICAN PEOPLE'S PARTY MEMBER WILL ACCEPT THIS"

Speaking to 12punto six months ago, Tekin categorically denied the claims of Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı, known for his close ties to the AKP, that "Gürsel Tekin will be appointed as a trustee to lead the CHP."

Reacting to the allegations, Tekin said, "No Republican People's Party member would accept this. More precisely, it is not possible for a political party that founded the state to be appointed a trustee."

Tekin continued his statement, saying, "Nevermind the names. Such a thing is impossible anyway. There is, after all, an investigation into the party. The CHP headquarters has decided to hold a congress as required. In such a process, I don't believe there's even a one in a million chance a trustee will be appointed to the party."

"I cannot accept the appointment of a trustee to a political party that was founded on the battlefield, which founded the country and is the mother and father of all political parties, let alone the idea of such a thing," he said.
